WHAT LIES BENEATH

WHAT LIES BENEATH

Kununurra, Western Australia

A still and smoky (from bushfires on the outskirts of town) Lake Kununurra looked mighty inviting for a refreshing dip on a 45’C day, but even I had to keep my distance with the camera, as this body of water is home to plenty of freshwater crocodiles that visit the banks every afternoon. I love how the motionless water mirrors the reeds and dead trees, so safe and serene, the perfect mask for what lies beneath.
