THE WASH

Ever since I learnt about shutter speeds at school I’ve been fascinated by how I can integrate movement in to a still photographic frame. This is why, time after time, I find myself setting up my tripod and pointing my camera at the ocean. I’d planned to shoot the north end of Turimetta beach, but there were fisherman in my chosen frame, so I went to scout the south end and picked out a section of moss covered rocks that I knew would create an interesting foreground. Playing around with different long exposures allowed me to capture the gentle movement of the foamy white wash.
