TARKINE TRACK

Like most people I was drawn to the Tarkine because, unlike many places in the world, it remains a hidden treasure and a forgotten wilderness. It’s the greatest expanse of cool temperate rainforest in Australia, and the second largest in the world and the wilderness here is so alive with unique creatures and habitats not found anywhere else. Walking through the woods – my footsteps muffled by the damp fallen leaves – to the tune of the birds, bugs and the frogs was like keeping time with the beating heart of the Australian rainforest.
