SUGARLOAF

Sugarloaf Rock and Cape Naturalist hold a special place for me. As a child, I spent summer holidays here with my parents and grandparents, the place where my dad taught me to surf. Then it was surfing trips with my mates during much of my late teens and early 20s. 
 
I was in awe of the strength and power of the ocean back then, and - like any young boy – I would test it, against my own, at the many dangerous breaks we chose to surf. Today, I’m drawn back here with my camera instead of my board, still in awe of the ocean, but with a deep appreciation and respect for it now too.
